If you are a College student and use your computer for studying , Pages or google, google browsing, Messages, And nothing intense, just regular using like an iPhone, MacBook 12 Inch is the best, If you are a medium user, You edit videos, record maybe with QuickTime player or Screenflow, Use multitasking a lot , running many apps at once, Play very easy games such as minecraft that don't use much memory neither power, And everything that is mention above, MacBook Air is the best. If you want speed, The best HD display, run intense apps and videos games, do a lot of intense activities, Have the fullest of a computer, Buy the Pro, you won't need to switch a pc for a long time. MacBook is more a person who uses a computer like an iPhone , Air for some one who does regular computer thing on daily bases and more than an iPhone, The pro if you want a full computer for gaming , data exporting, running many intense apps that require for a very powerful internals, The Pro.

Macbook Pro: Good performance for heavy usage (video, photo graphics editing) Macbook Air: Lightweight and for casual usage (email, surf web, video watching) Macbook: Waste of money, due to hardware as they are about the same as the MB Air at a higher price.

Long story short: I bought the Macbook Air in April, and I lost it 2 months later, don't ask why, (it just disappeared from my suitcase) I'm still mad at myself.... anyways I'm finally getting a new one, so I went to the store and I saw the new Macbook, but I actually got the Macbook air again, , (basically for the usb ports and sd card slot, and bc it's less expensive) 13" again for the batery, and I also got the 8GB ram one, just bc I want to use it for editing and all that stuff, and I need to carry it to Uni everyday. I hope I made the right decision.

The macbook/air really needs a refresh. Design is virtually the same since Jobs introduced it. Apple is still riding on the wave he left behind. Only true new product was the watch which hasnt done that great.

Apple is either the most brilliant, exploitative company ever, or they're extremely stupid and very lucky they have a rabid fanbase. And keep in mind, I'm typing this from an iPad. I have a MacBook Pro. This isn't coming from an "Apple hater", they make some really quality products. But I think they've lost their damn minds with this MacBook. To illustrate why, let me draw a comparison. Look at the Dell XPS 13. For less money you get a QHD touch screen with crazy thin bezels, equivalent build quality and aesthetics, two USB ports, a full HDMI port, and an SD card reader. And that's not even getting into the internals. You can get up to a core i7 with a far superior graphics card and more storage. FOR A LOWER DAMN PRICE. The MacBook has an M processor that, as many reviewers have pointed out, can't even run final cut smoothly. It has one port, meaning you need to get adapters if you actually want to be able to use it. And what do you get for your extra money and all of those piss-poor (on par with the MacBook Air from 2-3 years ago) performance? It's .8 pounds and .6 inches thinner. That's it. And maybe force touch, but that is almost a gimmick right now. Hell, you don't even have to go outside of Apple to see the sheer idiocy of this machine. They released the 2015 Pro with vastly superior specs and reasonable usability features, making it more than a glorified web browser, for roughly the same price. It astounds me how utterly blind people can be to common sense when a popular brand puts something new out. I can see this line becoming something special in 1 or 2 iterations when it has enough power to do more than just watch YouTube videos and use Microsoft office, and once they either wise up and put some ports on it or make it possible to use it entirely wirelessly, but right now I fail to see a single reason to buy this machine beyond bragging about how thin your computer is.
