How would one connect a 10G SFP+ switch to a 10G nic if each use different transceivers?

How would one connect a 10G SFP+ switch to a 10G nic if each use different transceivers? Ubiquiti XG16 seems to use it's own proprietary Ubiquiti type transceiver, but my Mellanox nics have their own transceiver types correct?

One thing to note on the cable lengths: if you need to run long cables between rooms, consider using LC to LC fiber optic and 10GBase-SR SFP+ transceivers. Fiber has lower latency than DAC (1ms or less for optical, compared to about 3ms for DAC), and in longer runs can be significantly more cost effective than DAC. Monoprice, for example, has 1m LC to LC OM3 for about 9 USD, and the cables only get more cost effective per foot the longer you go. And the transceivers aren't that bad of a price either. You can find them on eBay for as low as 10 USD each, though they're mostly around 14 to 15 USD, and you can find them on surplus suppliers online for within a few dollars higher than that. For example FS.com has 10GBase-SR SFP+ transceivers for 16 USD each (item no. 11589 for generic). I'm going that route in setting up my 10G network at home.
