What is the best method to ensure that my PC is using the 10Gb connection vs the 1G onboard?

What is the best method to ensure that my PC is using the 10Gb connection vs the 1G onboard? My Window 10 client continues to use the slower NIC. I am scratching my head at this point. Sorry, I am not a techie but love to experiment.
