Does anyone know about BIOS locks on a LapTop

if they forgot their admin password for the BIOS you need to get the manufacture's master BIOS password. each motherboard manufacture has one.
I unlocked my BIOS this way after the laptop I bought 2nd hand was locked and the seller refused to give me the password. I did mine on a dell latitude..

A BIOS relies on battery power. It's usually a small battery somewhere on the motherboard. Remove it and the main battery itself and the BIOS will reset itself. I've seen situations where this battery was actually solded to the motherboard and couldn't be removed. In that case there's usually a small jumper that you need to set on a different position to reset the BIOS. If that's not the case, there might be a master BIOS password from the manufacturer. If even that's not available, the only last resort solution is to short circuit it with a screwdriver or something. Do a lot of research online about the motherboard you have before performing this, as messing it up can cause damage to your motherboard.
