51:1


By the winds scattering ˹dust˺,

By the [winds] scattering [dust], dispersing [it]

Allah swears by the wind which scatter dust,

and ˹the angels˺ administering affairs by ˹Allah’s˺ command!

And by the angels which distribute the matters of the servants which Allah has ordered them to distribute.

Then (by) the dividers by the Command.

Indeed, what you are promised is true.

Surely you are ˹lost˺ in conflicting views ˹regarding the truth˺.

O people of Makkah, you are in a contradicting and conflicting speech. Sometimes you say: The Qur’ān is magic, at times you say poetry. And you say: Muhammad is a magician at times, and sometimes that he is a poet.

Only those ˹destined to be˺ deluded are turned away from it.

Averted from it is he who is averted.

Deluded away from it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is he who is deluded.

Turned away from faith in the Qur’ān and the Prophet (peace be upon him) is he who he is turned away from it in Allah’s knowledge, due to His knowing that he will not believe, and so he is not enabled to be guided.

Condemned are the liars—

˹They will be told,˺ “Taste your torment! This is what you sought to hasten.”

Indeed, the righteous will be amid Gardens and springs,

Indeed, the mindful<i class="s">(of God) </i>are amidst Gardens<i class="s">(of Paradise) </i>and springs,

Those who are mindful of their Lord by carrying out His commands and refraining from His prohibitions will be in gardens and running springs on the day of judgment.

˹joyfully˺ receiving what their Lord will grant them. Before this ˹reward˺ they were truly good-doers ˹in the world˺:
