gopro hero 5 problem:Wifi off and voice control off and quick capture off, but it still drained.

I bought a gopro specifically to film snowboarding on a trip i was taking. I got to the hill, stuck to go pro on my helmet, hit record and..... nothing. It was completely dead. I never have voice activation on. I usually turn on wireless connection too. What I think happened is either
1. The warmth to -5 degrees celcius may have taken a toll on the battery?
2. The camera software froze and didn't shut down properly.

I have same problem but this happen when i set (quikcapture) OFF , then I switch camera OFF and press shutter button while camera is OFF , at this time the back LED will blink once and camera will be working in background and battery will discharge.

Must turn off connections before shutting off otherwise the wifi and bluetooth stay active for a period of time and put a drain your battery. Voice control has nothing to do with it since the GoPro is not listening when off, i.e. no power drain, which is why you can't turn it on with a voice command. Formating the SD card has nothing to do with this either.

By draining the battery when off it greatly reduces the risk of a fire or explosion. In the near future, more and more device will drain the battery while off. I have a brand new (2017) high end 13.3 inch notebook computer that I paid $1400 for that will slowly drain its battery. I use lipo batteries a lot and they drain when not connected to anything. I could give you a hald dozen good reasons for letting a battery slowly drain while not being used.
