You know why the RTX Series is so overpriced? Because of two reasons 1. monopol by Nvidia 2. to make the already over priced two years old GTX10XX Serie look good. They want to sell the old gen cards for high prices.
People need to stop complaining about the prices and realize that they created the problem in the first place. For plenty of people AMD offers a competitive deal and even when it offers a better deal people still don't buy AMD. Nvidia has almost always played dirty games while AMD has almost always played it fair.
Nvidia raised cost because they don't want people to buy 2000 series gpu's. They still have a lot of 1000 series cards from companies sending them back after overestimating crypto mining.
They are only screwing themselves over because AMD's stocks are skyrocketing. I'll place a bet that by the end of 2019, AMD will be leading in the market of CPU's and GPU's. GO TEAM RED! (Have a Ryzen 2600x, LOVE IT. Thing is a beast for gaming)
I tryna get 244+ FPS on fortnite like the streamers, but they got 1080ti and I have 1080. Should i upgrade? my 1080 is going 60-144 fps in fortnite while lowest settings, and while im in fight it can drop to 55 fps. Idfk know how the 1080ti gives such a high boost, or its just my compiter. its a prebuilt acer predator G1. im boutta build my own pc and wonder if i just buy everything except graphics card and put my 1080, or upgrade to 1080ti pls respond
I'm still rolling on a GTX 980, it does really well but then the rumours started coming out about the GTX 1180. I was stoked, 2 generations ahead, it was going to be super powerful, going to last me at least 4 years bla bla bla. I set aside $1000 Canuckie dollars for it. I was going to get it. Then they announced the card and the prices. I looked at the stats and lo and behold I've got $1000 to spend on something else than a video card. nVidia has just persuaded me to wait for Radeon to launch their new gear and then we'll see how the prices adjust. Then MAYBE I'll look at upgrading
A new OS... will be bugged, then patched. A new game... will be bugged, then patched. A new video card or processor... might heat up and then will be built more stress resistant and might have features that are not proven or used at the time of launch as devs need to get the hang of it first AND WILL be overpriced! - The morality, when it comes to IT, be smart, be a bit patient, be just one little step behind to enjoy brand new technologies, once they are SOLID.
Nvidia overpriced their 2070 and 2080 series cards so they can sell their inventory which is flooded with millions of 1080's, 1070's and 1060's . Then again, they know PC players have deep pockets and are like sheep, meeeeeh.
At the date of this comment, in South Africa, certain models of rtx 2070 are cheaper than the old gtx 1080... And yes, you tested the referance card but only few are available, most of the available cards are with higher base clocks and again, the price is the same or even lower than a gtx 1080 (uk as referance) so for myself it makes sence to buy a new 2070 than a new 1080. As for the used market, I don't trust people these days not to sell you a faulty one...so you could end up loosing alot of money an a "good" deal... P.S. stop using newegg as price referance when the VAT is not included in the displayed price...also, if you are not from US/Canada....trust me, it gets alot more expensive when you add other taxes
