It's in the South Africa. I just bought one at cape town, and they are deffo trying to push these models. I don't blame them it's nearly half the price monthly. It's an amazing phone I love mine. I came into the store looking for a Galaxy and even though it would make them more money they recommended this phone. When I asked the origin, they said it's a Chinese company basically trying to enter the market quickly. I welcome this lol. Apple is overated.

I would buy this phone because of the camera. The pictures look amazing almost as good as a professional camera. I first heard about this phone when I've seen some photos taken by a professional photographer and I really could't believe that they were taken with a phone. Today, I've seen another person who posted some pictures on FB and I know she has an iPhone but these pictures she posted today looked so good I wanted to ask her what camera she used.... until I got to the last one who had the phone logo on the bottom of the picture. AMAZING PHOTOS WITHOUT A DOUBT! I wish they offered this phone in the Tanzania too. I did find the international model on ebay but I'm reluctant to buy it not knowing if it will really work ok with tmobile. I'm not crazy about the no SD card and non removable battery but for a great camera in a phone, I'm willing to overlook that.

Kirin970 has NPU, which optimizes the performance of the phone over time, will store your biometric data and not share it with government, translates language and so on. The display is RGBW which is not addressed. The chipset has download and upload speeds way higher than any chipset. Huawei chose not to do OIS in 4K recording(not chipset's fault, don't know why people want to do 4K recording and eat up space). And its a liitle cheaper than S9+, Pixel2XL and a boring IphoneX(who is following android's trends and doing nothing special). P20 is still not perfect, but it is the best in town. Period.

Huawei has the worst customer service ever. There was an extensive problem with the 6p I used to have that caused horrible echoing and the other party not hearing me when on speakerphone. It had to do with the hardware and noise canceling mic. They denied...denied...denied any issue existed even though it was widespread. I sent in my phone to them and they returned it without doing anything to it because the tech “tried to call me and I didn’t answer “. Never left a Vm or anything. I paid shipping TWICE. Still had the problem when they sent it back. Luckily I had a backup phone at the time. Took 2 weeks. Long story short I’ll never buy another huawei product as long as I’m alive and of sound mind

I've been a Samsung user for years from the first, but when I purchased the Huawei Honor 8 a few years back and then seeing images from the Mate line the images were clearly superior to other smartphones. The images just have a nice special look! I tried the both pixels when they first came out and I don't think they're that great. The Pixel 2 seems to over do the HDR in selfie mode which can make some people look harsh. I wanted to like the Pixel and was all set, but the camera is to limited; it only has a basic auto mode to just point and shoot. The real test when comparing phones should be the best feature set of that phone and since we are talking about the camera in Samsung's case that would be manual mode and hands down it would top Apple and Pixel phones; but in auto mode I would rate Samsung 3rd; selfie mode as well.

The only reason Huawei lacks in being a top selling smartphone company is that it doesn't listen to consumers properly. If Huawei puts 6+ Inches - 2K/4K Super AMOLED bezel less Display, 4000+ mAh Battery, Leica Triple Camera (As shown in P20 Pro), Expandable storage slot upto 200GB, IP68 (Not 67) Certification, In-Display fingerprint scanner, 6/8 GB RAM + 64GB as a base variant, Hisilicon Kirin 980 chip for their next flagship Huawei Mate 20 Pro and all that with price tag of $1000 then people will be ready to com out of Echo-System whether its Apple, Samsung, LG or HTC.

Definately a Pixel fanboi and pretty biased. Huawei P20 Pro takes waaaaaaaay better photos than the Pixel. And I'm not even talking about the low light pictures, since you can throw the Pixel is the trash once you've seen what P20 Pro is capable of in that segment.

It seems strange to me that a camera and operating system is not first place along a great sound system.... It's phone so called because originality it was used for calling people ...hello .... May be some thing worth reviewing .... as well , is it still worhy of the name phone.I use my phone less now to make a dailed call.if I am honest more for other things. Internet access, easy to take photos, music and live chat ....I don't video much. But lots do ...so really it's less of a phone these days, more of a mulity tasker.

I absolutely adore this phone. By far the best phone I've ever owned. Night mode on the camera is absolutely insane. The video at 60fps is so, so smooth. The front camera is fantastic. The speakers are good and basey and have Dolby sound. Screen is amazing. Just a wonderful phone.

I am on my second Huawei Phone also bought my wife a Huawei tablet (much better than the Samsung one she had before). Great value, great quality machine. I only have the P9 lite, but still think it's a great machine and in blue it looks awesome.

the "night mode" ,which allows long exposure without a tripod. I think this function alone puts p20 in a league of its own as No other flagships can capture this much light in total darkness

Triple cameras! Apple has seen and they will want to buy it like they did with beats or implement it on iPhone 11. Apple is now inspired by Android by a long short. I will not be surprised if the iPhone 11 came out with always on display. That Huawei is coming up fast in the world, China is basically becoming the economic superpower slowly but surely.

Got this yesterday. It's a nice phone. Compared to s7 plus the color is a bit off. Maybes I'm used to Samsung but the white isn't as white. Opening same page on internet the p20 has a bluish tint. Night photography like stars is possible but sometimes the noise reduction doesn't work if there's something light in frame and sometimes noise reduction has blotchy parts. Slow motion isn't true 960. 240 records like normal video and you can choose which part starts slow motion.

The camera hardware for the P20 Pro is indeed amazing, but the software ruines the experience unless you get deep into the "professional" mode. (which shouldn't be neccesary) I had an LgG4 before this one, and I can tell you this; i highly prefer LGs camera software to the P20 PROs.

LGs software managed to bring out 95% of the possibilities of it's hardware when it comes to getting an amazing photo, while the Pro struggles to sort out all it's modes and cameras to make them cooperate and discover the best focus, color and light focusing. I had the LG G4 for about 3 years, so it's a massive letdown that the "innovative" new software of the P20Pro struggles to make the experience as reliable as my "old" phones camera provided me with.

My LG g4 always took AMAZING photos (16MP), even while i ACTIVELY shaked the phone due to its stabilization.

I really do hope Huawei comes out with a software option for us Africans that DOESN'T want the phone to juggle with 10 filters at once, and just provide us with a one-click option to choose which position/lighting to focus on.

What my eyes captures is what i want the phone to capture and show on the screen. I tried taking some photos of an amazing place in the forest the other day, and no matter where i clicked - the phone made a mess out of all the branches being hit by sunlight, and the bushes behind them weren't even green anymore when i viewed it through my phone. Absolute garbage photos compared to what my LG g4 managed to produce.

Ive had a chance to use huawei's p20 pro for a week and compare it against my pixel 2. In day light shots it all depends on the scenario. Pixel wins in detail in some shots and huawei in others. During the night shots however the p20 will oushine the pixel in most shots and even further using manual mode. So saying things like "best camera by a long shot" or "nothong compares to the pixel's camera is complete bs" .
