Honestly guys, you keep talking about the notch like it is a deal breaker. I own several repair shops certified google and Samsung, we repair a large amount of phones. At this end of the day most iPhone come in for damages like broken screen, batteries not working well and such not much to do with software. On other other hand the Samsung devices which to a greater extend coming with issue regarding the screens failing all the time and just turning off if not cover by warranty you stand to pay over $200 for a repair, the other issues with Samsung devices are around the charge ports failing or giving some humidity issue, camera issues, software issues mostly like 90% of the Samsungs. Quite frankly the simpler the phone the better the percentage of google coming in are related to screen cracks not software or hardware issues although a few with motherboard issues which are covered under warranty so all and all in my experience in seeing thousand of phone the most reliable, most durable is the Pixel. Stop talking about all these nonsense, if the phone can transport to the moon and back and just look at the device for being simpler and giving more for your money. I've had an iPhone X for almost 8 moths now and I've to take to apple with issues regarding face recognition twice.

Pixel 2 is the best camera and most reliable phone I've ever had. Stop worrying about how the phone looks and worry about how it funtions. Pixel has best camera out and no bloatware. Had my 2 for a year and it works exactly the same as the day I took it out of the box. OH GOD BUT THE NOTCH OH MY GOD

Honestly, I don't care about the notch. I want to know whether Google addressed the issues with the last pixel's problems. Eg: The massive lag spree that the pixel 2 was having for some of its users, etc. I want a functioning phone that has great features and runs smoothly. I think some people in the comments here are exaggerating it a bit too much with the notch.

After all the feedback ever regarding 'the notch' on phones... they make it bigger and stick a face in it

That notch is actually an innovative 'security feature': It's designed so that if you ever find yourself in any kind of physical danger, you can just go hide behind it.

As long as the Pixel is exclusive to Verizon, it will be handicapped. And YES, I know it can be bought from Google and used on AT&T etc... But, like many other folks, I am on the Next program. I can't trade in my phone and get a Pixel through AT&T, and that sucks.

I use my phone on the go a lot and typically one handed. Trying to reach the apps at the bottom row of my 1st Gen Pixel XL with on hand can be annoyingly difficult (no i don't have small hands either). I can only imagine how much more of an annoyance it would be if there were no chin and the apps were even lower. All for what? An extra 1/2" of screen and $200 price increase? Ill be fine with my easier to handle phone that takes better photos and includes far better and more useful features. Ya'll have fun with a shitty facial recognition and "beauty mode" selfies LOL

I am currently almost completely integrated in the Apple ecosystem (only missing the HomePod and AirPods). I prefer how much more freedom you have with Android devices but still want a seemless transition from one device to another like with Apple iCloud and I think google will give me that now. I did switch over to Google Pixel 2 back in April but switched back to iPhone because of the issues they had with answering calls on any smart watch. After the first call taken on any smart watch it would stop working which was very frustrating.

I am  gonna go on a limb and say google pixel fanboys are just apple sheep of android? Like what are the common reasons google pixel users love google phones:

1. Stock OS experience (like ios)
2. Nice camera (like iphones)
3. Regular updates, on time (like ios)
4. Smooth UI? Hardware and software made together?

Because google designed the phone and stock android (like apple products) The things that people would overlook to use this phone:

 1. Headphone jack gone
2. Wireless charging only added this year
3. Arguably biggest notch (vs. apple made first notch)

I got the original Pixel XL when it came out 2 years ago and it has been a tank of a phone, brilliant build quality and never crashed once. I didn't upgrade to the XL2 as i didn't see there was a big enough change but have just ordered the Pixel 3 XL. I dont understand the negativity about the notch and design??? What do you expect it to look like? Where do you expect them to put 2 camera lenses and a speaker? The iPhone XS only has one front camera and the notch is much wider? Clearly the haters don't work in engineering or design XD

every phone will have some sort of a notch bar Samsung this year. it does have functionality. i'm not a massive fan of the chin but once again it packs something almost every phone doesn't have. also if you buy this phone over i.e the note 9 you're buying it for the camera. it will be the best because the pixel 2 is still the best. none of the features bar the shh mode will be on the pixel 2 so for me its worth it for the best camera hands down on a phone. its going to blow every phone out of the water. Xs Maxx is dead in the water compared to this. its not worthy of the 3 name it should be an S upgrade but it will still sell. if you're really bothered about a notch then you need to realise this is the world we live in and for now thats what were going to get. i'm buying it and ditching my iPhone X.

Disregarding the xl , I honestly think the pixel 3 is worth it. The camera is nicer than you can believe. Once you use it, you'll understand. You have to try it yourself to understand how special that camera is. And the loud speakers are honestly really enticing for me personally. It let's me play music for my friends or lay in bed and watch something without headphones. It eliminates the need for a portable speaker. I understand that the one plus 6t is coming out with a nicer display, a much smaller price tag, and lighting fast performance and Samsung just has the complete package, but this phone didn't deserve that much hate. There are great things about it. And if you don't want a notch, the smaller version is an option and it's not even really small at all. I wish people would stop focusing solely on the notch and the price tag

People complaining about notches, bezels, or chins. I mean, don't they think about usability anymore? Smaller bezels mean more accidental touches on the edges when using it with one hand. I'm a Galaxy Note 4, Nexus 5, and IPhone 5s user. And I prefer the comfort of the Nexus 5 and IPhone 5s. The Note 4 picks up accidental touches of the palm of my hand when using it one hand, and because the phone is so big.

Google really let me down. I've always been a Samsung note user and was going to finally make the switch to Google's pixel 3xl after hearing so much good things about the pixel2xl. That plan completely went out the window due to that chin and notch. Change is good but copying something that another company has already done and resulted in a lot of people hating it... Wasn't the best move to one up them with that chin and a bigger notch

The Camera would be the ONLY reason i would consider upgrading from Pixel 2 XL. But the notch is so stupid i can't.... i just...i hate notches. The Oneplus 6T though...maybe..? I want pixel 2 XL with even smaller bezels and pixel 3 xl camera. When is Pixel 4 XL out?
