For me this is tablet is the biggest nonsense that they could make. First of all the aspect ratio is idiotic. From a perfect tablet for web, they made just a bigger smartphone. Second thing is ARM. Tablets aren't only for playing like smartphones. Without a possibility to install Windows , this device doesn't have a reason to exist. The last problem is its storage. 64GB and no microSD cart slot is the most stupid idea that they could have.
In case you wanted to buy Huawei M5 tablet, i'll just let you know that : - No headphone jack on both versions - No M-Pen support for the M5 8.4" version - No DRM security level 1 so for Netflix and any streaming media it's 480p (SD) and not 720p (HD) or 1080p (FHD) on both versions - No Microsoft Office (for free) option on the M5 10"8 version - No 120hz screen or Amoled screen The lack of headphone jack and HD streaming support is REALLY tough when you know that a tablet is made for media consumption. I was hyped for the M5 8"4 but no pen support and no DRM security level 1 for high quality streaming is crippling for me
I prefer Android tablets to Chrome OS honestly. I wish Chrome OS would fix the Play Store issue and double app issues. I need more detachable 2 in 1s as opposed to convertibles. Because I needed a tablet for school...I went with a Surface 3 even though it is dated. My next tablet may be this or an older 7th gen Core M tablet. Edit: this one has no headphone jack and I don't understand. That's a huge negative.
I have played with Huawei M5 here in South Africa, and it is very nice tablet, alltho LCD, colours and contrast are very much like AMOLED, display is great, 2560 x 1600 pixel, only Samsung AMOLED is comparable. Problem, I have not been able to play with Pad 4, it is just being released in South Africa, I can buy it, but in a sealed package, so no testing possible. Xiaomi is slightly cheaper. So question - has anybody compared Huawei and Xiaomi, and what would you buy, with your money? I really need advice, because I need to buy a tablet, and I can't find Xiaomi 4 to try out.
My Galaxy Tab S3 is still a killer tablet. HDR super amoled display, quick charge, quad speakers, S pen, long battery life, good stand by and doesn't have the typical Samsung lag. (I think Samsung has slower eliminated that problem on most of their newer products)
What do people do with tablets these days? I got a Mediapad M5 for free when I bought a Huawei Matebook X Pro. I think I'm gonna sell the tablet but I wonder what do people do with them.

Neither, I prefer google pixel, I'm on the pixel 4, I think I'll hold onto this until the 5 drops. Hopefully Google learns and gives us something special next year ...
